Coordinator_ Dr. Emiliano Sánchez
PhD and Professor of History from the University of Buenos Aires, where he teaches Contemporary History. He holds a Master’s degree in Sociology of Culture and Cultural Analysis from the Instituto de Altos Estudios Sociales (IDAES-UNSAM). A specialist in the history of the press and intellectuals from a transatlantic perspective, he is currently an Associate Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), based at the Laboratory for Research in Human Sciences (LICH) and the Center for Latin American Studies (CEL) of the National University of San Martín. He has received scholarships and grants from CONICET, the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion and the National Fund for the Arts. His research focuses on the history of the press and media culture in Buenos Aires and its links with Europe and Latin America. He is the author of the book Batallas en tinta y papel: la prensa de Buenos Aires ante la Primera Guerra Mundial (Tren en movimiento, 2024) as well as of numerous national and international articles.
Researchers

Dr. Juan Buonuome
Ph.D. and an M.A. in History from Universidad de San Andrés, and a B.A. in History from the University of Buenos Aires. He is currently a researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and Full Professor at Universidad de San Andrés. He has also served as professor and researcher at the National University of San Martín.
His research focuses on the intersections between journalism, politics, and mass culture in early twentieth-century Argentina. On these topics, he has published numerous book chapters and articles in academic journals such as Desarrollo Económico, Estudios Sociales, and the Boletín del Instituto de Historia Argentina y Americana “Dr. Emilio Ravignani”, among others.
He has received fellowships from the FULBRIGHT Program and the Ibero-American University Association for Postgraduate Studies (AUIP), and was awarded First Prize in the Historical Essay Competition “The Role of Journalism in Argentine Politics”, organized by the Cultural Department of the National Senate.

Dra. Mercedes Saborido
PhD in Contemporary History and Diploma of Advanced Studies in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid. She is a graduate and Professor of Political Science (UBA). She is a regular professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. She has received a scholarship from the Carolina Foundation for graduate studies and research stays. Her area of research is communism and its periodical press. She is a member of the coordination of the Iberoamerican Network of Studies on Communism (RIECOM) and has published articles in national and international journals. Currently, she coordinates the Master in Latin American Studies (CEL – UNSAM).
Doctoral fellows

Mag. Gabriela Barolo
Professor of History (UBA) and Master in Criticism and Dissemination of the Arts (UNA). She is currently pursuing a PhD in History (UDESA) with the support of the Dougall Award and a doctoral fellowship from the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET). Her research project seeks to reconstruct the place of photography and its narratives in the informative apparatus of the popular daily press in Buenos Aires, between 1900 and 1940, within the framework of the development of a mass culture. She is part of the teaching staff of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional and has coordinated the Diploma in Image Politics: History and Visual Culture (CLACSO – FFyL/UBA).

Mag. Juan Morello
Master in History and Philosophy from the Freie Universität of Berlin. Professor of History at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF). He is currently a doctoral fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) based at the Laboratory for Research in Human Sciences (LICH) and the Center for Latin American Studies (CEL) of the National University of San Martín. Her research deals with the German-speaking press in Buenos Aires and its links with the Weimar Republic between 1918 and 1925.

Lic. Sofía Inés Perea
She holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM). She teaches Argentine Social History and Communication Policies and Planning in the Communication Sciences degree program (UBA). Her research addresses the circulation of medical and scientific knowledge in the press of Buenos Aires in the late nineteenth century.
